Small company boards, advisory boards and committees have the same need for structure as a large company, usually without anyone whose job it is to provide it.
What Aboardable is for
A board pack is not a flat PDF binder. It is tiered content that members contribute to, not just consume. Members table items for discussion and attach materials; the chair triages; accepted items become agenda slots with time allocations and their materials land in the right section of the pack. Minutes then scaffold off the agenda structure. That is the whole idea, and everything in the product exists to serve it.
Why I built this
I’m Sean. I built Aboardable because I needed it. I sit on boards and decision-making groups without a company secretary: nobody whose job it is to turn a scattered set of chat threads and attachments into a real agenda, a recorded decision, and a minute people can still trust six months later. Every tool I tried was either a generic project tracker wearing a “board” label, or a compliance platform built for a company that already has a governance team on staff. Neither one did the actual job.
I’d built software before this: a point-of-sale system, real infrastructure, real businesses depending on it working correctly every day. That’s where the discipline in this product comes from. When I set out to build Aboardable, I didn’t assemble a conventional development department. I learned the current generation of AI-assisted development tools properly, and organised a small set of specialised agents into roles a real engineering team would recognise (architecture, engineering, testing, product design, security review, quality assurance) rather than treating it as one general-purpose tool for everything.
I’m the founder, the product owner, and the one directing that whole system. Nothing here shipped because an AI wrote it and I accepted it unread. Every change is governed by a written architecture, a real permissions model, an actual test suite, explicit milestone boundaries, and independent review before it’s considered done: the same discipline any serious engineering organisation would hold itself to, just organised differently.
What that means for you is straightforward: Aboardable runs on a genuinely lower operating cost than a product built the conventional way, without cutting the discipline that keeps a governance record trustworthy. That’s the whole reason the price is what it is: premium discipline, without conventional software-company overhead.
